Hopped Margarita Recipe



2 oz tequila (We’re partial to Reposado)
4 oz Hopwater Lime
½ oz Cointreau
salt

First let’s get something clear. A “blended” margarita is just a tequila slushy. Nothing against that, we appreciate the appeal of a childhood slushy with booze, but let’s stop acting like it’s something else. We’re taking a stand that a margarita should be over ice, and with salt on the rim. If you don’t want salt on the rim we don’t even know who you are anymore. Whew! Glad we got that off our chest(s).

Rub the lime wedge on the rim of the glass to make the salt stick. Yes, you could do that with water but this looks sexy. Invert the glass and dip in the salt to coat the rim. You know what this looks like. Pour the tequila, the cointreau, and the lime juice in a shaker with a couple ice cubes and shake yo’ thing. Pour 4 oz of Lime Hopwater in a highball glass over ice; add the tequila, lime juice and cointreau. Stir once to incorporate, and serve immediately.

Rinse. Repeat.
